Who We Are

I have sailed these races for many years - from Clearwater to Key West, Naples to Key West and Sarasota to Key West.  They have all been far too enjoyable to forget.  There were years when I worked with CYC on the Key West entertainment committee and set up the parties and events in Key West.

The Sarasota to Key West race became more than just a race.  It became the end of the season event.  In 2010, when CYC canceled the race, I chose to put together "Bone Island Regatta".  This is a non-profit race strictly for the Sailing Community.

I can't say I do it all - an event like this can not be accomplished without the support and involvement of many volunteers.  There are a lot of people involved, and all on a volunteer basis.Bone Island Regatta has a second start, out of Naples, and Jerry Watkins does an outstanding job of handling the Naples registrations, skippers meeting, start etc.

There are so many people that support and help this Regatta, I can't name them all. And I can't forget the various establishments in Key West that are so supportive.  To name a few - the finish line will be hosted by the Hyatt, Dante's is where the awards banquet will be held.

I hope this enlightens anyone who was wondering who we are, now lets go sailing!
